Homemade Apple Sauce

This recipe is as simple as can be and works as a healthy snack as well as a killer topping for potato latkes. Since this apple sauce is sweetened by honey-it is all natural and can be enjoyed entirely guilt free.

(makes 2-3 servings)

4 cups sliced Granny Smith Apples, cored and peeled

1 1/2 cup water

3 tablespoons honey

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ginger

In a medium sized stock pot complete with a lid, add apples and water and cover and cook on medium-high for 30 minutes.  After 30 minutes, mash apples with a fork and season with honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Enjoy!
